Romeo and Juliet
In the streets of Verona another brawl breaks out between the servants of the feuding noble families of Capulet and Montague. Benvolio, a Montague, tries to stop the fighting, but is himself embroiled when the rash Capulet, Tybalt, arrives on the scene. After citizens outraged by the constant violence beat back the warring factions, Prince Escalus, the ruler of Verona, attempts to prevent any further conflicts between the families by decreeing death for any individual who disturbs the peace in the future.
Shortly after, Romeo Montague meets Juliet Capulet and instantly fall in love. After secretly marrying, the two families fight again with two characters losing their lives and resulting in Romeo being banished.
A plan to help the 'star-crossed lovers' to be together goes horribly wrong, as fate takes hold and tragedy ensues...

Baz Luhrmann - The Red Curtain TrilogyBaz Luhrmann burst onto the big-screen in 1992 with his cult classic "Strictly Ballroom". This was quickly followed up in 1996 by rejuvinating Shakespeare's classic tale of the star-crossed lovers "Romeo + Juliet". The third smash-hit of "The Red Curtain Trilogy" was his musical "Moulin Rouge!" released in 2001. Luhrmann has since followed these up with his epic "Australia" in 2008, but it is his original trilogy for which he is best known - making ballroom dancing sexy, brining Shakespeare to the MTV generation, and producing a hit musical all within one decade.
