Time After Time (from Strictly Ballroom)
The song was written by Cyndi Lauper and originally released in 1984 - Music video of Lauper perfroming the song is also available on YouTube. For the 1992 film "Strictly Ballroom" Tara Morice (the actress who plays Fran) actually sings the song herself. This is an important song in the film aiding the narrative and emphasising the blossoming relationship between Scott and Fran. |

Lovefool (from Romeo + Juliet)
Swedish band "The Cardigans" released "Lovefool" as a single in 1996, which was then used as the lead song for Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" the same year. Guitarist Peter Svensson and singer Nina Persson wrote the lyrics, and the song fitted perfectly for Luhrmann's high-tempo version of Shakespeare's classic tale of forbidden love. |
